Don't Let a Medical Bill Ruin Your Retirement.

Alberta Health Care stops at the border. A broken leg in Arizona can cost $40,000 USD. We partner with TuGo to ensure you are covered, so the only thing you bring home is souvenirs.

Discuss Your Options

"I think I have coverage on my Visa..."

We hear this every day. Credit card travel insurance is better than nothing, but it is often riddled with gaps, low limits, and "reimbursement" clauses that force you to pay out of pocket first.

Feature Typical Credit Card Plan TuGo Travel Policy
Age Limit Often cuts off at Age 65 Coverage up to Age 85+
Trip Length Capped at 15 or 21 Days Flexible (Single Trip or Annual)

The TuGo Advantage

🚑 Emergency Medical

The core coverage. Pays for hospitals, doctors, ambulances, and prescriptions while abroad. It also covers Emergency Air Evacuation back to Alberta if medically necessary.

✈️ Trip Cancellation & Interruption

Life happens. If you break your leg before the trip, Cancellation pays you back. If you are in Mexico and a family member falls ill back home, Interruption pays for your flight back.

🧳 Baggage & Delays

If the airline loses your golf clubs or your suitcase arrives 3 days late, this coverage pays for the replacement items you need immediately.

🦁 MyFlyt Service

Exclusive to TuGo. If your flight is delayed by 2+ hours, you automatically get a pass to an airport lounge or a cash payout. No claims forms—it's instant.

Travel Lingo Decoder

Don't get caught by the fine print. Here is what you need to know.

Stability Period
The #1 Reason for Denied Claims. To be covered, your medical condition must be "stable" (no medication changes, no new symptoms) for a set time before you leave. With TuGo, this can be as short as 7 days for younger travelers, but usually 90 days for seniors.
Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR)
Standard cancellation only covers specific events (illness, death). CFAR is an optional add-on that lets you cancel because you simply changed your mind, reimbursing up to 50% of your trip cost.
Pre-Existing Condition
Any illness or injury you had before you left. If you have high blood pressure, that is "Pre-Existing." You must disclose this. We can often still insure you, but we need to know upfront.
Multi-Trip Annual Plan
If you travel more than twice a year, buy this. It covers unlimited trips (e.g., 15 or 30 days each) for one low annual price. Perfect for cross-border shoppers or snowbirds who visit home for Christmas.

BROKER INSIGHT: The "Change in Meds" Rule

Did your doctor lower your dosage last week because you are doing better? Warning: In insurance terms, that is a "Change in Medication" and can reset your Stability Period, leaving you uncovered for that condition.

Always call us if your health changes after you buy the policy but before you leave. We can update the policy to ensure you remain protected.
